My surprise revealed ~ it's my very first giveaway!!

Good Tuesday morning everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well today. I am excited because our temps here in Virginia are actually supposed to be above freezing for the remainder of the week! Yay!!

O.k., now on to the good stuff. I have been teasing you for the past week about a surprise I have been working on. Well, the suspense is over! I am offering for my very first giveaway a few things for Valentine's Day. I have crocheted an afghan in a soft creamy white and trimmed it out in a sherry colored ribbon in honor of the day of love!! This afghan measures 49 by 43 inches. The ribbon is removable so if you don't like it, simply untie and take it out. Easy peasy!! The second thng I am offering is a set of three heart shaped bowl fillers that I made out of red and white striped ticking. I stitched live, laugh, and love and attached a sprig of sweet annie on each one. These have been coffee stained to look old. And last but not least, I am offering a box of Candleberry tarts in Friendship Tea scent. If you haven't used these tarts before, you are in for a real treat. They smell absolutely divine!!!

Here are the rules:
1. You MUST be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post only! If you aren't already following me, jump on board and sign up now!! This giveaway is open to everyone ~ no matter where you live!
2. You MUST post my giveaway on your blog. If you don't do this step, you will be eliminated. So just do it!! (please)
3. There is no number 3!! I will run this giveaway until Tuesday, January 26 and will draw a winner on that day at around 7 p.m. eastern time.

I am super excited about this giveaway. I have been fortunate to win a couple of giveways that others have had and it is so much fun to know that you are getting something in the mail besides bills!

Well, that's it for today. Be sure to enter today and good luck!

Until next time. . .

Make over Monday!

Good morning everyone! Well, it's back to work for me today. Hubby was able to get my car out of the driveway yesterday so off to town we went! I was so happy to just get out of the house for a few hours! I was beginning to feel like a prisoner in my own home!

I did manage to get a lot of crafting done over the weekend! Woohoo! I am almost finished with my "surprise" that I teased y'all with last week. Here's a sneak peek at part of it:

I hope to be able to reveal the complete surprise tomorrow so stay tuned!

Now on to my Makeover Monday. I decided to grunge up some candles as I have read on several blogs and craft forums of people doing this. So I purchased some plain jane pillar candles from Wal Mart and gathered up some yummy smelling spices and Mod Podge and got to work! I used instant coffee grounds, cinnamon, and some nutmeg. I am pleased with how the candles turned out. I am going to try this with some empty tin cans and see if I can make something cute and primitive out of them.

Well, that's all I've got for today. Gotta get off here and get ready for work! Stay safe and warm and have a great Monday!

Until next time. . .

Another snowy Saturday!!

Hello all! Well, I woke up to yet another snowy Saturday! Winter is just about to wear out it's welcome around here! Come on Spring!!! I haven't been outside of the house since Wednesday and I am about to go stark raving mad!!!!! Hubby is only working half a day today so maybe he will take me out somewhere when he gets home. Although by the looks of these pictures, it might be safer to just stay home!!

This pic is one of the rocking chairs on my front porch. This is snow that has fallen since around Wednesday, I think:

Here's another, wider view of the porch. The bench in the middle was made for me by my uncle. It has a wedding chapel bird house on it and a welcome friends rock plaque on it although you can't see them for all the snow!! LOL!

And finally, a pic of my poor little car that hasn't been out of the driveway all week! We have an incline for a driveway and even though it's snow covered right now, underneath that snow is nothing but ice! The tires on my little purple "gangsta mobile" aren't in the best shape and just won't go up the incline when it's icy!

I don't have much on the agenda for today. I was hoping to get to the library in town to check out a couple of books I've been wanting to read. Doesn't look like that will happen though with all this bad weather. Looks like a good day for crafting, don't you think?? LOL!

Well, that's it for now. Try to stay warm and cozy today!

Until next time. . .

Hugs,
