Today's makeover is this cutesy little country shelf that my hubby inherited from his ex-wife! Actually, she didn't want it when they divorced and he doesn't like to throw anything away so he kept it. I liked it o.k. but since I'm more into primitive country decor now, I decided it needed a makeover. Here it is before:

I decided to paint it black with a light coat of red on top of that. I then distressed it with some sandpaper and glued the star over the heart cutout on the top panel. I may go back and add a coat of stain to it, I'm not sure yet. I kind of like it just the way it is now so we will see. Here's the after:

So there ya have it! My next challenge is trying to figure out what to put on the top of my fridge. I've been pondering this for a while and have a few good ideas in mind. I'll keep you posted!
