Fast Food Friday ~ It's Football Time!!!!

Hi everyone! Well, it's that time again ~ Super Bowl Football!!! I am a huge football fan as is the kid. The hubby ~ not so much!! He just watches for the commercials! I was reading online the other day that pizza is the most popular snack food people eat during the Super Bowl. So in honor of that, I am sharing a recipe today for Pizza Dip.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14 ounce) can pizza sauce
1/4 pound pepperoni sausage, diced
1 onion, chopped
1 (6 ounce) can black olives, chopped
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a 9-inch pie pan with non-stick cooking spray.
2.Spread cream cheese on the bottom of the pie pan. Pour pizza sauce over the cream cheese, and spread it so that there is an even layer of sauce. Sprinkle with pepperoni, onion, and olives. Top with mozzarella cheese.
3.Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 20 to 25 minutes.

I haven't tried this one yet, but it sounds yummy and I will probably give it a try this weekend. Serve with pita bread chips, crackers, or even a thin sliced baguette, it all sounds good to me!!

I am rooting for the Saints to take the win. I don't really care that much for either team, but the Colts have already won a Super Bowl so I'm hoping the underdog can emerge victorious! Either way, I think it will be a good game and I know the snacks will be great, especially with recipes like this one!

We are dealing with a lot of ice this morning. I am worried that we will lose power before this one is said and done. The tree right outside my living room window is just one big icicle!! Hubby left for work at 4 a.m. but ended up turning around and coming back home after only going about 5 miles. He said he was sliding everywhere! I work in the opposite direction from him, so we are hoping it's not as bad down my way. I guess we will see!

I hope everyone has a great Friday! Until next time. . .

  1. Your dip sounds good. I hope that you make it to work safely. I always enjoy your blog! ~Dan~

  2. This sounds wonderful, I might have to make it for my family. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Donna, thank you for posting this great sounding recipe!! Sounds delish!! I might just give it a try this weekend too!! I think Dan would like that a whole bunch, and especially since he's almost back to being his ol' self once again!! Which is wonderful!! I don't like seeing and having him be so sick..and it seems like the older he and I get, the more harder it is for us to snap back from having an illness... or so it seems that way for us anyhow.

Oh goodness, I hope the weather doesn't get worse than what it already is over your way.. I do see on the news that it don't look too good! We are to get some snow next Monday I guess. I am so glad that your hubby decided to turn around and go back home..being there was alot of ice on the road.. I hope you had a safe trip if you did make it to your work or..if it was too bad out, that you went back home too, like your hubby did..

Take care, stay safe and warm and have a great day and wonderful weekend too!!

  4. I hope you don't have to get out in the ice today! I can handle the snow anyday but I hate the ice & I'm afraid that's what all this rain we're having is going to turn into...grrrr!
Well I am not a football fan & probably won't even watch the super bowl but if I do I will have to cheer for the Colts but I do live in Indiana so I have to support them...hehehe! Have a great weekend!

This sounds so easy and delicious.
Enjoy your Super Bowl evening and goodies.
