Good Monday morning! It's cold here today but NO SNOW!! Well, at least none until tomorrow night. Hey, we celebrate the small things in life, ya know?
For today's makeover, I have been seeing on several blogs where some talented ladies have been covering books with fabric. I love the look and last weekend while we were in the Smokies, we went to several large flea markets. At one of them, there was a book vendor who had a box full of books marked "FREE"!! I grabbed two of them because I knew they would be perfect for me to try my hand at covering them with fabric. I already had some scrap fabric laying around from some previous projects so I got to work. Here's a before pic:
I used a pretty floral print for one of the books and just a plain tan muslin for the other. I decided I wanted a pocket put on the front of the plain one just to dress it up a little. I put a sprig of Sweet Annie in there for some texture. Here's a close up pic of my print fabric:
I tied them together with a piece of coffee stained cheesecloth. I am very pleased with how they turned out. I'll definitely be doing more of these! Here's a couple pics of the finished project:
I was the lucky winner of Mylinda's giveaway over at Country Lane Peddler. I received my goodies on Friday. I won a cute heart makedo and two yummy looking heart shaped "cookies". She also threw in some tiny heart bowl fillers. Thank you so much Mylinda ~ I love them all!! My hubby thought the heart shaped "cookies" were real!!
And finally, the moment we've all been waiting for! LOL! I had twenty qualified entries for my St. Patty's Day giveaway. I wrote all the names down on a pad of paper and used random.org to pick the winning number. And the winner is. . .
Lucky number 16 which is. . . CARMEN C.!!!!!
Congrats to Carmen! Please e-mail me with your addy and I will get your goodies sent on their way!
I hope everyone has a great Monday! I am heading out the door to work. Yippee! (o.k., not really that happy about going to work, but I'm trying!!)
Until next time. . .
Hugs,
