Make over Monday!

Good morning everyone! Well, it's back to work for me today. Hubby was able to get my car out of the driveway yesterday so off to town we went! I was so happy to just get out of the house for a few hours! I was beginning to feel like a prisoner in my own home!

I did manage to get a lot of crafting done over the weekend! Woohoo! I am almost finished with my "surprise" that I teased y'all with last week. Here's a sneak peek at part of it:

I hope to be able to reveal the complete surprise tomorrow so stay tuned!

Now on to my Makeover Monday. I decided to grunge up some candles as I have read on several blogs and craft forums of people doing this. So I purchased some plain jane pillar candles from Wal Mart and gathered up some yummy smelling spices and Mod Podge and got to work! I used instant coffee grounds, cinnamon, and some nutmeg. I am pleased with how the candles turned out. I am going to try this with some empty tin cans and see if I can make something cute and primitive out of them.

Well, that's all I've got for today. Gotta get off here and get ready for work! Stay safe and warm and have a great Monday!

Until next time. . .

Hugs,

  5. Donna, your candles turned out beautiful!! I ought to give this a try too, as I have some while candles around here..

Glad to hear you were able to get away from your home for a bit. I know what you mean by feeling like a prisoner in your own home..as I've had that feeling a few times myself over the years! Still comes knocking on my door sometimes!

Still love coming to your blog Donna!! I've really got to get me one started soon!

    Have a great day!

  6. Glad you finally got out of the house...even if it was for work...

Your candles really turned out wonderful. Something I need to try. What did you use to make the hole in the top for the tea light?

  9. Karen,
I forgot to put how I put the tea light in the candle in my post ~ DUH!! That's what I get for being in a hurry while posting! Sorry about that! Hubby drilled a hole in the top of the candle and I used one of those flicker light battery operated tea lights. I got them at the Dollar Tree ~ two for a dollar! I grunged them up a little bit too.
