Hello everyone! I'm off work for today and tomorrow due to all this snow and cold weather we are having. I can't get my car up my ice coated driveway so it's vacation days for me! I have a lot planned for my mini vacation ~ lots of crafts I need to get finished up and a few I want to get started on. Then there's the never ending housework that I need to get caught up on. I've already gotten started on some laundry so at least I'm getting something accomplished today! It's so hard to tear myself away from this computer. I love reading everybody's blogs. It's so addicting!!
For Thursday's Tip of the Day, I thought I'd share a few spot removal tips for you:
~ When you spill any kind of liquid on your carpet, cover the area with cornstarch. The cornstarch sucks the liquid out of the carpet. Vacuum when dry.
~ Use Dawn dish detergent for shirt collars, grease spots, etc. in the laundry for a fraction of the cost of other laundry stain removal products.
~ Use petroleum jelly for removing lipstick stains, or rub a little vegetable shortening on the stain and then launder as usual.
Hope you can put these simple tips to use! Have a great Thursday!
Until next time. . .
Hugs,
Those are great tips Donna! Enjoy your mini vacation and stay warm:)
ReplyDeleteHi Donna,
ReplyDeleteWe have more snow coming down as I speak! I had to turn around and go home because the roads are so bad. I read your post below and I love red ticking and I love white knitty material, maybe a cool pillow? I know what you mean about reading blogs, I have to set a timer sometimes or I would never get anything done! Stay warm and toasty! Cindy
I am soo addicted to my computer too.
ReplyDeleteI tell myself I'll just click on a few and then and hour later and 10 pages later I'm still sitting there.
I can only do that though when we are off and not schooling.
Great tips too..thanks for sharing!
Wonderful tip Donna, tfs.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, so glad you came by the Old Cupboard Door, it gave the opportunity to find your blog.

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog...I'm so glad you've become a follower. Welcome to my world :) Thanks for the tips too!
Great tips Donna. I also use Murphy's Oil Soap on laundry stains. It has done wonders for old grease stains, grass stains, etc. The only problem is that you can't use it in a HE washer. Can't wait to see what your project is. Happy "vacation" day.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with this tip Donna...been using it for years!
