Good Monday morning to everyone! I'm up bright and early this morning thanks to a restless hubby who couldn't sleep and a puppy who decided play time was gonna be before 5 a.m. this morning. I hope this is not indicative of how my Monday is going to go!!
I have been wanting an old window frame to hang above my fireplace for quite some time but haven't had much luck in finding the one I want. So hubby decided he would make me one out of some scrap wood he had left over from another project. I painted it black and distressed it with a bit of cream colored paint and some sand paper. Here's a couple of before and after pictures:
I'm not real sure that I like the way I have it decorated. I am considering buying a metal barn star that will fit in the center of the wreath since that is really what I had in mind to start with. Any other suggestions?
We are having so much rain right now! It rained all day yesterday and last night. It's still raining this morning. I may have to take a boat into work! The weatherman says we may be getting another significant snow event on Friday. Four to six inches is what he is saying. Let's hope and pray that changes to zero to one inch by Friday! You know what they say ~ if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change. My luck, it will change for the worse! LOL!
Don't forget that today is the last day to sign up for my giveaway. The drawing will be tomorrow and you have two chances to win. Just be sure and leave your comment on my January 12th post only. Good luck!
Have a safe and dry Monday!
Until next time. . .
Hugs,
Love your window! Your hubby did a grea job! I think the barn star in would look great but it looks good the way you have right now too! I hope you don't get the snow they are forecasting...we are supposed to be getting some snow today & tomorrow but I'm not sure how much. We've had lots of rain too...I would just like to see the sun shine!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Hugs,
Pam
WoW! You and your husband make a great decorating team...he does the wood and you do the paint!
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that the window is homemade, so it is not as bulky as a real window frame.
I think it looks wonderful!
Enjoy your boat ride to work =)
I think your window looks great Donna. Your hubby did a good job making it and you did a good job decorating it. I'm rather plain so the only thing I would change is maybe take the little wooden hanger off and make the wreath more round. It looks a little oval to me. The good thing about your window is you can change it up over and over again for a totally different look each time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day,
AMY
The window frame turned out great! DH did a fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteWe had thunderstorms Saturday night with some heavy winds. Yesterday looks stormy all day but just sprinkling. Today... windy, cloudy and the weatherman says chance of flurries all day. I just know we are going to get a doozie of a snowstorm yet.
Take Care,
Debbie

Good Morning Donna! Wow! You sure did get up early!
ReplyDeleteLove your frame and I really love the way you have it decorated! But, I also think a metal barn in the middle would look great too! You and your hubby have done a beautiful job!
Have a great day!
Blessings,
~Lynn
Hi Donna, love love love, your window frame and I love the way you have it decorated! Hubby made me one too, but with one thing and another, I haven't got it painted-maybe soon. Yours looks so good above your mantle.
