It's Wednesday ~ hump day!! Woohoo! The weekend is in sight! I have a couple of projects going on right now, but nothing is finished! Story of my life! My step-sister had a beautiful baby girl last week and her baby shower is this Sunday. I am making her a crocheted baby blanket which I have started but I'm not sure that I like it. It is a varigated yarn called Baby Print and has mint green, pink, yellow and white colors in it. I am doing it in the same pattern as the afghan I am giving away and for the ribbon trim I thought about pink. I also have some baby pink yarn that I could trim out in a white ribbon. Here's some pics. Which one do you like the best?
I can finish this in about two days so y'all help me out and tell me which one I should make for her.
I am also going to attempt to make my fist stenciled sign! Hubby got me this wonderful piece of wood from his work and he has sanded it smooth for me. Now I just have to decide what I want to put on it! I want it to go in my bathroom that I am getting ready to redo in a more primitive style. Any suggestions on what saying to put on it?
That's all I have today for Whatcha Working on Wednesday. Thanks to Leslie at My Country Home for hosting this every week. Be sure to pop over to Leslie's blog and check out all the talented ladies who post for this. I need to get my butt in gear and get some other things I have started finished. I have some other projects in mind that I want to start but I'm trying not to put too many irons in the fire at one time! Too bad my hands can't go as fast as my brain does!
We are enjoying having little Sophie so much!! She was a little pistol last night. I had her growling and barking at me and she was shaking the fire out of her stuffed bone chew toy that is bigger than she is!! She has been sleeping really good all night until hubby gets up for work. Then it's play time!! But she does settle right back down after he leaves so it's all good! Look at this sweet little face ~ how could you not love her?
Well, gotta get off here for now and go to work. I'm running late this morning! Have a great Wednesday!
Until next time. . .
Hugs,
Well...I'm liking the multi colored for the simple fact that my son's baby blanket that I crocheted for him before he was born was those colors, LOL, he slept with that thing till he was probably 6 and it was pretty raggedy by then, but I still have it:) The pink is very pretty though too, OH fiddlestix....I'm no help!!!! Sounds like Sophie is enjoying her new home:)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to decide on the color for the baby blanket. All little girls have TONS of pink things...the baby print would be nice...but I think the pink with white ribbon would be so precious! Glad Sophie is working out so well! I'm sure it's so much fun having her around! She is too cute! Have a GREAT day!
ReplyDeleteI personally like the mint green yarn trimmed in pink. And as for your bathroom sign, maybe "Washroom" or "Please Wash Your Hands"? Not sure how big your stencils are or how much room you have...I'm sure anything you do will look great!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day at work!
Donna you step sister is going to love that blanket. Sotty but I think either trim will look fantatstic. I don't think I can choose.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Wash Room" for your bathroom stencil? Are you freehanding it or do you want an actual stencil? If you ever need stencils, BeCca from www.folkartfromtheharbor.com has the most wonderful stencils. They are inexpensive and she ships fast.
Love your new baby. We have a Schnoodle that I adore but my daughter would like one like yours. Maybe next time around.
Enjoy your day.

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you put on your sign! I have wanted to try making one of those for a long time! I saw a really cute one the other day that said "Bless our Nest"~ Have a super day!

You sound just like me...I have so many projects started but I just can't seem to get in the mood to finish them up! My mind is forever racing with toughts of things that I want to make but I just can't seem to get in the crafting mood lately...grrrr!
ReplyDeleteI think the afghan you have started is pretty but I am partial to pink so that's the one I would pick.
I'm not sure what kind of decor you have in your bathroom but you could always make a "Washroom", "Outhouse" or "Country Bath" sign.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your adorable Sophie...she is definitely a cutie!!! Have a great day!
Hugs,
Pam
Hey Donna, I think the baby blanket would look great trimmed out in pink and the sign, why not paint it in chalkboard paint and you can change up what you want it to say..like leaving little love notes for hubby and visa versa...:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice hubby you have! I don't know what you should put on your sign but there are numerous sites you can check for inspiration. I'm just in awe of a guy who takes time to do such a nice thing. He's a keeper!

I like the pink yarn better. I received quite a few of the multi-colored yarn blankets, but I really loved the nice blue ones for my boys.
ReplyDeleteI have a baby afghan that was made for one of my lil darlins in the same multi-color yarn. I like both but I think I prefer the pink. Pink is just so much brighter, vibrant and frilly for a little girl.
ReplyDeleteYour new puppy sure is a cutie! Enjoy while she is little for they grow up even quicker than the kids do! :0)
Hi Donna, Oh, what a sweet puppy and the afghan will be gorgeous, no matter how you choose. I mailed out your package yesterday, hope it doesn't take too long, I wrapped everything in bubble wrap really good, now I am crossing my fingers, they don't break anything. Cindy
ReplyDeleteBoth of your afghan ideas sound great. I usually just go with whatever I feel at the time and since you have the variegated started, I would keep on with that. But I understand your questioning because I do that every time I am making something for someone else. I worry that I didn't get it right and they won't like it... But they always do :)
ReplyDeleteIf you're looking for ideas for signs, I often check out ebay to get inspired. Or you could check out my bathroom photos...I have a long line of signs with all the words for 'bathroom'...lol
And Sophie IS just too adorable! It would be hard not to love her :)
Have a great day :)

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure either one would be dearly loved and appreciated and I know it would be beautiful...BUT...I do have a favorite! When I knew we had a little girl, I wanted pink...lots of pink! My mom made me one in pink, trimmed out in white and it was so pretty and I still cherish it! So, my vote is for pink! I can't wait to see whichever one you decide on!
Have fun making your sign too! Can't wait to see it either!
Have a great day!

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI really like the variegated baby color the best. Just my personal choice I guess. Sophie is really cute! Have a great day!

Donna, I like both yarns, but I think I like the pink one just a tad bit more for a little baby girl! I'm sure your step sister will absolutely love whichever yarn you choose for making her little girl's afghan.. I know I would, as both yarn colors are real pretty! I had a real hard time choosing my most favorite!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting real close to the weekend now! I am soo looking forward to it!!
Have a great day Donna!
